| Our mission
is to provide an earth friendly alternative to
disposable petroleum-based products for businesses
while educating the general public on ways to
reduce waste.
Green Alaska Solutions
was started by Deborah O’Leary. Originally

over 20 years. She has worked for the Alaska Legislature
and NANA Development Corporation. Deborah has
a long history of involvement in community improvement
projects and broader environmental and energy
issues.
Garbage has always been
a preoccupation of mine. I’m constantly
frustrated by how hard it is to minimize what
goes into the landfill with the prevalence of
plastic and Styrofoam™ packaging. I believe
packaging made from renewable resources is the
future for disposables.
Using disposables made from
plant-based materials is a good first step to
reducing environmental impact and alleviating
health concerns associated with petroleum-based
products. These products will break down in the
landfill without leeching toxins, but Alaska needs
a commercial composting facility to efficiently
and effectively turn them into soil. |
